MAGNETIC RESONANCE SAFETY TESTING SERVICES (MRSTS) is the World’s most experienced MR-safety testing company that conducts comprehensive evaluations of implants, devices, objects, and materials. MRSTS has access to MR systems operating from 0.2-Tesla to 7.0-Tesla, including dedicated-extremity and interventional MR systems. Testing includes assessment of magnetic field interactions, heating, induced currents, and artifacts. In addition, sophisticated modeling techniques may be applied for further characterization of MRI issues for implants and devices.

The staff of MAGNETIC RESONANCE SAFETY TESTING SERVICES is uniquely qualified to accomplish all tasks related to the evaluation of medical implants, devices and materials for acceptable use in the magnetic resonance (MR) environment.

MRSTS provides unparalleled resources and services to clinical, research, and industry entities that require assistance and guidance on all aspects of MRI issues for implants and devices.

Frank G. Shellock, Ph.D., the President of MAGNETIC RESONANCE SAFETY TESTING SERVICES, has more than 25 years of experience as a researcher and educator in the field of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. He has served as a consultant to many MR system and medical product manufacturers. In addition, Dr. Shellock serves as a member of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International committee on Magnetic Resonance Safety.

Along with his staff, he has performed MR-safety tests on over 3,500 implants and devices, including aneurysm clips, stents, heart valve prostheses, orthopedic implants, vascular access ports, otologic implants, cardiovascular catheters, surgical instruments, electronically-activated implants (pacemakers, neurostimulation systems, etc.), monitoring and patient support equipment, and devices intended for use during interventional or MR-guided procedures (see the PUBLICATIONS section of this web site).

IMPORTANT NOTE: The results of implant testing may be posted on www.MRIsafety.com This website is the premier source of MRI safety information and reaches over 100,000 registered users.
